Ne KLIMAjte perisku!

Ne KLIMAjte perisku! is an educational-research project aimed at acquainting the public with the manifestations of climate change in the sea and researching strictly protected noble pen shell that are potentially endangered. Familiar with current events, public engagement is growing - by reducing the impact, adaptation and preparedness for climate change. The noble pen shell is endemic and the largest shellfish in the Mediterranean and can grow up to 120 cm in height. The ecological role of this species is extremely important because it filters and retains large amounts of organic matter from suspended detritus, which contributes to increasing the transparency of seawater. In addition, it provides a hard base for colonization in soft seabed areas by numerous algae, sponges, polychaetes, mosses and other...

The project enabled Carolina to become  an integral part of the Society and participate in all the activities of the association, from educational projects to those of research. As a great lover and connoisseur of sharks, Carolina complemented our educational program and held numerous lectures to young students from Croatia and around the world about her area of interests. Also, she gave the students an insight into numerous options for inclusion in the work of associations and organizations through volunteering  in projects such as the EVS...
